Agora Collective e.V. proudly announces the programme: Everything Under the Sun, a project that consists of series of artistic events around the issues of food through different aspects of climate change in Nordic countries and beyond. It focuses on the subjects of `Transformation and Adaptation´ to develop its artistic activities and educational programme throughout the year of 2015.
Most climate researchers have drawn the same conclusion: the world´s climate will change and this change has already started.
The changing precipitation and temperature patterns brought infertile lands in many countries in Europe, yet it brought fertility and variety to agriculture in the Nordic countries. These transformations have resulted in interesting ways that people throughout history have adapted to certain conditions: new culinary approaches emerged through drought and abundance; what brings a new discourse about food in the artistic field.
Everything Under the Sun approaches the problematic issues related to climate change, rejecting alarmism and mirroring all aspects of it, both positive and negative results of in on the Earth´s landscape. The programme dwells upon two main topics:Adaptation and Transformation. Adaptation is gathering artists and urban agriculture enthusiasts together to find alternative ways of adapting ourselves towards the results of the climate change, and finding solutions for self-sufficient healthy living. It brings artists and permaculture experts together to meet communities throughout workshops and discussions.
Under the subject of Transformation, the project utilizes the example of the Nordic countries, in which the global warming affects the Nordic land positively. Within the frame Everything Under the Sun invites artists Dafna Maimon (FI), Egill Saebjörnsson (IS) and Åsa Sonjasdotter(SE/NO) and Polonca Lovsin (SI) and experts on permaculture and waste management Leonie Woidt-Wallisser (AU) and Alice Grindhammer (DE) to tackle the issue in a participatory, humorous and informative way.
Everything Under the Sun is curated by Ece Pazarbasi and Caique Tizzi, produced and hosted by Agora Collective e.V. with the kind support of Nordisk Kulturfond, as part of the the Collab Arts Partnership Programme – CAPP – which is supported through the EU Creative Europe Programme.
