K+E► The Deep Space

“Klassik and Eletronik Music Plays” is a serie of concerts that puts together classic and electronic music acts to dialogue under the same theme. This time the inspiration is: THE DEEP SPACE.

ELETRONIK► (45min)
Valery Vermeulen is electronic musician, music producer, mathematician, new media artist, author and guest professor at Erasmushogeschool Brussel in Belgium. He will present Mikromedas, a musical project in which compositions are elaborated using data from space and deep space, like sampled radio astronomical data coming from various sources e.g. data stemming from several spacecrafts such as Voyager1 and Voyager2 or data originating from various astrophysical objects such as pulsar stars (which might be up to 22000 years old). Vermeulen’s installations and performances have been widely shown in Belgium and abroad.

KLASSIK► (45min)
The virtuous french pianist Yannick Rafalimanana, brings his ensemble to perform a repertoire inspired by the Space. He has developed an international concert career performing recitals and chamber music concerts regularly around the world, winning numerous awards and prizes such as the Tufts/New England Conservatory Soloist Competition. Nowadays he travels the world playing in big concert houses and also in private houses, with his project Groupmuse

THE VENUE:
Hosting the event, Agora Rollberg is a 2.200 sqm space being developed to be an ongoing experimental center of circular practices in Neukölln (U8 – Boddinstraße / U7 – Rathaus Neukölln).
