Ceramic Kingdom

Ceramic Kingdom is a collective work space and art center located in Neukölln, Berlin. Embracing the ancient practice of clay in today’s society, we explore material, form, ideas, & process.

Several full-time members maintain the daily flow of our shared workspace. Representing a variety of studio practices, this core group of individuals create & exhibit artworks ranging from functional to sculptural, wheel-thrown to slip-cast, product-design to wabi-sabi.

Wheel-throwing Classes are offered at 3 various Levels:

Beginning Wheel: Cylinders and Bowls

Level 2: Plates, Bottles, & Surfaces

Level 3: Teapots, Lidded Forms, & Pitchers

Each course is comprised of 4 weekly sessions, 2 hours 15 minutes per class.

One-on-ones or private group sessions on the potter’s wheel are also available upon request.

“Studio Time” is offered every Wednesday and Sunday evening for artists who would like to use our studio on a drop-in basis. We have 5 available potter’s wheels, different colored clay bodies, two wedging tables, several buckets of studio glazes, various engobes & stains, and plenty of space for glazing. “Studio Time” provides independent, self-guided work time with no formal instruction, open to all skill levels.  We cultivate an atmosphere of concentration as well creative dialogue.

Kiln firings in our large Rhode electric kiln can be booked for independent projects,

to suit various artists’ needs. Kiln shleves are 54cm wide. Interior height is 63cm.

*Coming soon!* We are currently expanding our future educational programming to include workshops such as Hand-building, Mold-making, & Raku-firing.
